Reading Edge
- Reading Edge is for middle school students and those high school students who have not yet passed the reading portion of the HSGQE or are still below BSSD Level 8 in Reading. This program is not for elementary students. Students are placed in Reading Edge Levels 2-8 based on teacher in-put, SRI scores, other pertinent data, and availability of classes. Each level has enough supplies to last one full school year. The blue-colored workbooks are for the foundation units for all levels and must be done first. The other colored books may be done in any order, but the given books, booklets and articles must all be covered. The work is scheduled to be completed in a 60-minute bock of time and a 6-day cycle. Movement from level to level is the same as for changing levels in any part of SFA—see the flow chart.
- The Success for All Foundation’s middle school programs are designed to add well-structured curricula, instructional methods, and professional development for teachers to help students reach their full potential. The Success for All Middle School design is a comprehensive, replicable model for middle schools serving many at-risk young adolescents. Our programs improve literacy skills, but also provide challenging curricula in the content areas to prepare students for high school.
