L5-6 6 Traits Rubric

WR.05.01 Articulates and exhibits knowledge of the 6-Traits.

WR.05.02 Uses a variety of prewriting strategies including generating ideas (brainstorming, note taking, discussing, interviewing) and organizing information.

WR.05.03 Follows writing process (e.g., prewriting, drafting, evaluating, revising, proofreading, publishing, or presenting).

WR.05.04 Demonstrates ability to write a structured 5-paragraph essay. (This can count as a proficient writing sample).

WR.05.05 Writes a minimum of five proficient multi-paragraph writing samples in four different formats (both fiction and non-fiction) such as: narrative/creative, poetry, autobiographical, explanatory, observations, or reports. (GLE [6] 2.1.1, 2.2.1, 2.2.2)

WR.05.06 Researches, writes and organizes one report (2-3 pages long) and cites information from two sources using MLA or APA format. (GLE[6]2.5.1)

WR.05.07 Revise writing to improve organization, word choice, paragraph development, and voice appropriate to the purpose. (GLE[6]2.4.1)

WR.05.08 Forms and explains own standards or judgments of quality writing.
