The Discovery channel podcast, which can be found on iTunes, has great survival videos. They are titled "How to Survive _____" All videos are about three minutes long, have great visuals, and quick snippets of information. Can easily be used as an introduction or a recap. Worked great for level 2 life skills and the first aid standards in the higher levels. There is a video on falling through ice, being stranded, animal attacks, wounded, escaping fire, and many more. I found it helpful to have my students watch the video once and have a discussion. We then watch the video a second time to see if we had forgotten anything. Student conversation was always lively after these videos.
