STANDARD UNPACKED:

KNOW Students will know how to use the thesaurus as a resource. They would also know the definition of nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives.

ABLE TO DO Students will be able to use strong descriptive words to make a mind movie of a paragraph. They can identify nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives in a paragraph.

ASSESSMENT STRATEGIES

PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES:

Petal power. Make a flower with five petals. Write one commonly used word in the middle and use a thesaurus to locate five synonyms for that word. Write the five synonyms on the petals. Hang on wall for resource.

Adjective Body. Students describe themselves using adjectives. Write these adjectives onto accordian styled sheet of paper. Add head, legs, and arms. Display.
